What if I told you that there is a person out there less talented, less smart than you and yet they have more success. Would you believe me? Would you get upset? Because this is reality. For all those who believe you have to deserve wealth to have it, may I introduce to you, Kim Kardashian. That’s right, the girl doesn’t sing, doesn’t dance, doesn’t have a degree in physics, yet she has everything the average person wants. She has fame, money, power and beauty. Don’t get me wrong, I am not degrading Kim’s accomplishments, far from it. The girl has built an entire empire from nothing. So in my eyes, give her the respect she deserves. I believe she is an incredible bran- builder and action taker. But I am sure you know tons of people that you think are honest workers, who have put in the hours, yet they still are not successful. Perhaps I may even be talking about you. So keep reading and find out why are smart people are becoming the new losers.
So why are smart people becoming the new losers? It all starts with a very simple answer, time. We live in a world where there is very little time to do anything. The attention span of a human has been shortened to 8 seconds, which is less than that of a goldfish. Unfortunately this is terrible news for the smart people in our society because that means the window between thought and action is very short. And if there is one thing smart people like to do is look at something from all angles. Analyze the pros and cons of making a certain decision. However, in this day and age by the time you do all those calculations, the less smart person already has taken the action and reaped the benefits.
Let’s also talk about how being smart is also a curse in itself. You see, most people who are smart tend to overthink things. This is something that is a real struggle and a big danger to the smart person’s success and I’ll tell you why. The moment you start thinking of the different scenarios of how something may go wrong, that is the moment you are are welcoming fear. I think we all know how strong of a factor fear is towards obtaining success or not. Sadly, the truth is that most people who are smart will not take action unless all scenarios have been walked through. A behavior that is based on fear and will lead to something called analysis paralysis. Meaning you get stuck thinking about the what if’s so much that you never take action. Leaving once again the less smart person to find more success than the smart one.
What are you saying, Freddy? Are you saying I need to be less intelligent to find success? That is not at all what I am saying. My intention here is to bring to your attention to the fact that you need to be more of a risk taker. You don’t need to unplug your brain and make dumb decisions. Just be faster when it comes to thinking of pros and cons of something. You don’t have to have it all figured out from the beginning. Jump in the water, you know how to swim and for the most part, the journey is never the way you plan it. SO stop wasting time on the what if’s and concentrate on how to keep safe and figure out the rest in the water. Success nowadays doesn’t depend on perfection, it depends on who got there first and sounded the bell.
